How Google Got Started

While Google was a university research project, it is not a company. In 1995, Larry Page enrolled in Stanford’s computer science graduate program where he met Sergey Brin. Both students began researching the behavior of web links. They conceived a system to determine which pages linked to each other. Schmidt was hired as the company’s first CTO and CEO. The two worked together for five years before creating Google. In 2000, Brin was named CEO of the company.

During the time that the two co-founders were still a small team, the company’s rapid growth resulted in management issues. The investors felt that Brin and Page needed a more experienced manager to oversee their rapidly growing company. Thus, Google hired Eric Schmidt as its new chairman and CEO. Schmidt had a computer science doctorate and was well-matched to the founders’ technocratic impulses. In 2004, Page and Brin continued to run the company while Schmidt became executive chairman and Brin became director of special projects.

The two co-founders met while Page was considering grad school. Sergey Brin, a student at Stanford, assigned Larry Page to tour the school and help him make a decision. Both men disagreed on a number of things, but eventually came to work together. In the dorm rooms of their dorms, the two developed the search engine Backrub. With this, Google has become one of the world’s largest companies.

Founded 20 years ago, Google has grown far beyond its humble beginnings. As part of its growth, Google is collaborating with major technology companies and releasing hardware products. During the past five years, Google has released multiple hardware products, including the Nexus smartphones and home appliances. In addition, it has experimented with becoming an internet carrier. It is currently operating seven Campus locations. It is the only search engine with a mobile app.

In 1995, Larry Page and Sergey Brin became partners. During that time, they argued over a lot of things, but ultimately, they agreed on one important thing: they had to build Google from scratch. The two men named it Backrub. It is now the most popular search engine in the world. The two men’s first office space was a garage. In 1998, they moved to a large building in Menlo Park, California. During this time, they had an idea that would change the world.

The two founders of Google have been in the same place for a long time, but they’ve never met before. The two met in 1994 when Larry was considering going to graduate school at Stanford. The two argued about a lot of things, but they later formed a partnership and built their search engine in their dorm. Their efforts have led to the creation of a standalone company called Waymo. They have helped hundreds of companies launch their products, and their efforts have made them more competitive in the market.
